An internal (non-public) internal ESOC Navigation Support Office GNSS station.

Location

The antenna is mounted on a concrete pillar at the ESTRACK station (SMA) on Santa Maria, Azores.

It is the newest addition to the EGON stations in Europe, providing the westernmost coverage and complementing MAS1 in the North Atlantic region. 

Equipment

The site was founded in 2016, installing a Septentrio PolaRx4 receiver and Septentrio Chokering antenna, which provides multi-GNSS tracking from the station; GPS, Glonass, Galileo, Beidou. 

In January 2020 the equipment was upgraded to a Septentrio PolarRx5 receiver and a Septentrio PolaNt Chokering B3/E6 antenna.
